In this 5 day camp young chefs will take a culinary trip around the world from, the comfort of The Local Kitchen, as they explore the foods of the Middle East, Asia, the Mediterranean, and Central America.
Each day will start with a brief lesson on the culture and flavour profiles of the different culinary regions being studied that day, followed by a practical, hand-on cooking lesson. Students will learn to create authentic and delicious dishes in a fun and supportive environment. The young chefs will embark on a walking field trip mid-week to tour the local food bank, where we will discuss issues of food security and food equity, and they will explore the ingredients found on the shelves of the Eastern Market.
